High Country has modeled bridges, flood walls, drop structures and dam breaks in steep mountainous streams. Models developed for low-gradient channels can provide meaningless results if modeling variables are not correctly adjusted. Our expertise in steep terrain means our clients will get reliable results.
We have developed physical hydrology and water rights models for projects in several western states. This includes water rights allocation, diversions for direct and storage use, reservoir operations, and river and contract exchanges. Our modeling experience also includes closed conduits in raw water collection systems and treated water distribution systems.
We have modeled more than two dozen bridges and channel modifications as part of reconstruction after the 2013 flood on the Front Range of Colorado. Where bridges were replaced under a temporary permit or no permit at all, we provided modeling for owners to comply with County requirements. When existing bridges cannot pass the required flow, we have used modeling to determine modifications to make the structure compliant.
